{ How To Draw Cartoons and Comics }

Published by Shai | Filed under General Creativity, Writing, Creativity and Art Workshops / Courses, Notes & Ideas

One of the things that I wish to learn to do one day is to draw cartoons and comics. Not really as a profession - I already have a job I love. I just want to do it for fun. I do have a few people that I consider as inspiration. And, one of them is Debbie Ohi. Her comics and illustrations are inspiring for me. I love them.

Anyway, in my quest to learn this art, I decided to start collecting some useful information and resources. Here are some that I found online:

Lou Darvas - How To Be a Professional Cartoonist CourseOther than checking out these online resources to learn how to draw cartoons, one of the things I did was to buy the Lou Darvas Course*. It’s available as an electronic course - either as a downloadable version or as a CD version. I purchased the downloadable one. A word of warning, though: It’s quite a big file download. So, if you’re on dial-up, you might consider purchasing the CD version instead.

Although I have never heard of Lou Darvas before, I found out that he’s meant to be a famous cartoonist. He created this cartoon drawing course and it’s available via Draw Cartoons Today. I’ve only skimmed the content of the course so far, so I can’t write a review just yet.

However, in a nutshell, the Lou Darvas cartoon drawing course is presented in a 12-Day format, where different lessons are presented in each day. Of course, no one has to do the course on a set time or day. You can come up with your own schedule. I’ll let you know how it goes…
